If someone plays nothing but online FPS games, BAM! That MOFO needs a 390. Hook that brother up.

If someone has horrid taste in games like myself, the 970 will offer a less frustrating experience.

That's how I see it, the persons choice in games usually takes care of the overhead issue.

So I play a bunch of indie games and a lot of BF4 and stuff.

So what I have learned so far is:

r9 390:

has more raw power.

has bad support with drivers

is more future proof

gtx 970:

is a better over clocker

has great driver support

3.5 gb of ram

physic x

so both cards have their ups and downs.

Should I just save up some more so I can negate some of these issues with both cards?

Processor: I7 4790k @ 4.6 ghz

Ram: 32 gb of Avexir DDR3 ram

GPU: Sapphire Nitro R9-390

PSU: 850w corsair RM series

CPU Cooler: H100i gtx

Case: Master case pro 5

Monitor: LG 29UM67P

I couldn't agree more with that plan. I went through two mid/high level cards, and the frustration they bring to the table.

An enthusiast card, well it's everything you've heard and more.

If anyone asks you never saw me.
