Firewatch: Check this game out

Raggou

If you haven't had the chance to check out Firewatch yet you should! It's a pretty fantastic engaging game with excellent voice acting and plenty of surprises.

Here are several reviews of the game for those looking for another opinion on the game. I highly recommend picking it up! It;s also available on other Platforms other than PC, but I am p[nutting it here because #PCMasterRace

Guys, don't spend $20 on it, it's not worth it. The game is really short, the story doesn't really unfold towards the end. It's a really good looking game, but nothing more, wasn't that bad of an experience but nothing more but average. And expensive for what it offers.

144Hz goodness

Definitely wait for a good sale on this game it seems like from what people are saying.  4-5 hours of game for $20 isn't a value in my opinion.

AMD Radeon R9 290X / AMD FX-8320 / Gigabyte 990FXA-UD3 / Samsung 830 128GB / Seagate 7200RPM 3TB / Corsair HX 850W / BitFenix Shinobi XL / CPU & GPU Watercooled - Thick Triple 360 Rad

I just finished this game today. I would say it is worth checking out.
Really good story and the voice acting as mentioned before is brilliant, if not the best I've encountered in a game so far!

Unsure if it was worth not waiting for a sale though.

This looks cool but its one of those games that i put in my wishlist to remind me to grab it when its on sale for a few dollars years down the track. Very few games these days entice me to play full retail, stuff like GTAV or Witcher 3 will get snapped up right away anything else can wait :)

Ok story, GREAT voice acting. However I still don't think its worth the money its asking,  You literally just run around looking at stuff & then talk about what you just looked at.

I really like that as an experience, not all games need combat or anything, I think its a nice experience and I love the presentation

Short games don't bother me until I have to pay $20 for like 3 hours of gameplay. Reminds me a lot of MGS:GZ. So short but they charged like $40 for it

GZ was an utter excuse and was pointless

Fair enough, I guess I can't really judge it too well if I haven't played it.

But yeah GZ was a fucking joke

GZ was a stripped out level with barely any content from another game that was just around the corner, basically a way to grab extra money, as a prequel to the worst MGS game ever made

Firewatch, while I found the ending sort of lame but realistc and fitting with the theme, i really enjoyed it, id happily have played it for longer, but it would wear out its welcome since its just 2 people talking mostly and any longer it would be boring

Everything good I would have to say about Firewatch is, in my eyes, overshadowed by the ending being so underwhelming.  So many ways they could have gone with it, so many things that felt under-explored (trying to avoid spoilers here), I walked away from it with a really negative attitude towards spending the time and money on it.

My theory is that with an indie dev or any dev team with minimal resources, they can't really flesh out certain things due to only being able to explain things via dialogue and not being able to create actual in-game assets for certain things.  To me, all of the things that felt under-explored came off as "we don't have the ability to show you what you want to see, so we'll just have it all explained via short conversations at the end and call it a day."  I could just be looking at it with the wrong attitude, but everything missing that I feel should have been in here felt like an excuse instead of a design choice.

The ending was a bit underwhelming, especially after they built the tension so well. But even so, the game left me feeling incredibly emotionally conflicted which is a plus.
