3x1080p 144Hz or 1x1440p 144Hz?

Steven9595

I'm looking to upgrade my monitors and I'm not sure if I should go 3 x 1080p 144Hz (I've already got one) or if I should go 1 x 1440p 144Hz? Suggestions? Specs in signature.

3 x 1080 is awesome for sim racing / flying outside of that it is up to you if you want that much of your desk space taken, otherwise I would go for a single 1440p with the 1080 on the side

Unless you add another 970 or play on medium/low settings don't expect to take advantage of the high refresh rate in AAA games. 1x1440p monitor is easier to drive than 3x1080.

maybe so, but a 970 will do fine

i use a 770 4gb and it drives 5760x1080 games at high or ultra

If I were you I'd opt for a single 1440P 165Hz G-sync monitor; specifically the PG279Q.

I don't like 2D games...I just couldn't get into them.. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

Yeah my dilemma is just productivity vs ease of use :c

Go for the 1440p. Last year I switched from three 22" 1080p's to one 27" 1440p, and to this day I am still very happy with the decision.  I also was using a 970, 1440p works great with the 970.

this is what i've been thinking of doing, i've got 3 23's atm while I do enjoy using them all together i'd rather have one really nice monitor.... maybe an ultrawide but those are a couple of pretty pennies outside my budget atm.

do the 1440p

i use 3 24 inch 1080p monitors and it works great for me, but it is massively impractical

i custom built my desk so it works

i woulda gone 1440, but they werent available 3 years ago, so i got the 1080s

I've noticed that even though the 27" 1440p is stretched across an extra 5 diagonal inches, the 1440p is still way more crisp/better looking.

I've seen and heard a lot of people saying that the difference between 1080p and 1440p is too small to notice and that is definitely not the case.
