Then what would you suggest?

This one is way better http://pcpartpicker.com/p/RVhwNG

CX power supplies realy aren't what you want for a gaming system, any overclocking and it does poorly, I know this from first-hand experience.

also, a dual rad AIO for a X4 860K???

just save the $98, switch to a intel motherboard and CPU, or upgrade to a MUCH better AMD CPU. Also, why a dvd writer? get rid of that and the super overkill cooler, and you've got an extra $100-$120 to spend on a CPU.

Gaming - Ryzen 5800X3D | 64GB 3200mhz  MSI 6900 XT Mini-ITX SFF Build

Home Server (Unraid OS) - Ryzen 2700x | 48GB 3200mhz |  EVGA 1060 6GB | 6TB SSD Cache [3x2TB] 66TB HDD [11x6TB]

...Wait, so when you say "If you say power supply you have to give a good reason", you know that it is bad but are negligent to change it?

That PSU is bad because it has low grade components. If it pushes out all of the watts it can for even a short while, it can die and take out other parts.

You are paying it to kill itself and some of your parts. Get a better one, pay less in the long run.

Get an air cooler, you do NOT need a water cooler for that even though it is an AMD chip.

Get an R9 380 unless you will get a lower wattage supply.

LIBERATOR: Core i5 6400 @ 2.7GHz | GeForce GTX 670 2 GB | HyperX Fury 8GB DDR4 @ 2133 MHz | 250 GB Samsung 850 Evo SSD
My new build; Liberator, Check it out

The more friendly we are, the more helpful we are!

MY OLD BUILD (AKA PREBUILT MONSTROSITY)
INSANITY: AMD Athlon II X2 @ 3.0 GHz | Geforce GT 720 2 GB | 4 GB DDR3 @ 1333 MHz | 120 GB Silicon Power SSD | 500 GB Hitachi HDD

I'm getting a dvd writer because I have a lot of games on dvds

You can probably get Windows from G2A for like $40, making you save money by removing the optical drive

Is there anything I should change on this build? http://pcpartpicker.com/p/7CCncf

If your focus is gaming you'll want either this 1440p IPS display or a 1080p 144hz TN free-sync display, though this 1440p is better for productivity

also games on disks? this is like the 31st century man, should just make backs ups of them with NERO or something

You can get much better with that much money. take a look at this. it's a little more but you can make some cuts other places. get a hyper 212 evo or even just use the stock cooler for a while, thats an easy upgrade. but this thing is a WAY better gaming machine.  or get an H170 mobo and thats even more cheap

The OS cost is not included in this build strangely which makes this build considerably more expensive

Got a different monitor (1440p) and managed to squeeze in an overclockable 4690k in there to get some more juice out of it

Also if you plan on gaming online please don't use wifi.. Ethernet is a must

If you have the option to get a high refresh rate monitor, do it.

Why would you pair a 970 with such a terrible display? 1080p IPS is about the minimum right now, and overall a 390 would be faster than a 970

as far as buying a resold windows key goes, you might as well just get the OS for free rather than paying a reseller for one

Because the key may have been purchased illegally, and either way the company behind the software is screwed, you just save yourself money in the process, so long as you know what you're doing your OS will be fine

The gray market as it were can contain keys purchased with stolen credit card info, and keys may be revoked at any time

and man I hate linking to polygon but here ya go

Really the keyresellers probably hurt sales more than piracy
