I bought 23 CPUs and want to make a server/ (not so super) supercomputer

I bought 23 CPUs off craigslist for $20 for all of them, I've tested them and they all work. I bought them out of impulse because it was such an amazing deal. They are all (18)Pentium D's and (5)Pentium 4's. I now want to build a server or (not so super) super computer. But I don't know where to get started or how to do it. Anyone got any articles or how to's or anything on making one of these.

EDIT: I also bought 7 Intel Xeon W3503 for $20 from the same guy, anything I can do with those?

Cluster them in webmin?

Or really just get a pentium G3258 or some AMD quad core which will smoke all of them combined

Recycling will cost more than you paid to buy them after you find out they are useless.

Alternatively, you could turn them into keyfobs...

Just those Xeons take 130w each... Do you really want to build a supercomputer that will draw several kilowatts from the wall?

The best your going to do with the W3503's is get a 4p board and possibly get those working, but by the time you do the money and time you put in could be better spent on actually decent hardware

None of the CPU's you bought are great performers, especially today

The Xeons Perform almost 9x worse than a newer E3-1231 v3

make something cool out of them, their performance isn't worth it IMO

1. Send those CPU's to @Tithonius

2. Buy some E5 2670 chips for under $100 each on ebay.

3. Make a badass dual-cpu system with 16 cores and 32 threads.

That will wipe the floor with just about anything for price/performance.

1: Buy an Athlon X4 860k

2: Have a better computer than all of those combined

3:...Profit?

You really are a stupid Tigger

Those 23 pentiums would beat an athlon x4 860k.

Yes! I am interested in having them for sure! The link for the post in which there are more details can be found in my signiture! Or if you wanna PM me we can talk about some details!

Collecting every single CPU in existence? Is it possible? I have no idea, but i'm sure gonna try! http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/341848-dont-throw-away-old-cpus-im-collecting/

If you can get a mobo that'd survive, those Netburst Pentium are only good for overclocking records, they are too slow for anything else+lack multi processing support.

I did not know this.

In a lot of the programming languages(C/C++, Java, javascript... all C syntax based languages in general + some others) it means not equals.
