So paypal got sued...

Paypal got sued for improperly placing holds and limits on peoples accounts. I got my account limited and my account said that its because "they need additional information on my transactions" (idk how much information they need for me to buy stuff on humble bundle and send money to my cousin once a month. Am i eligible to send my claim in? Paypal never gave me a proper answer to why my account is banned stating that i have another account that has transaction disputes. which at the time i did not. I only made a new paypal account 4 months after mine got locked. 

Space Journal #1: So Apparently i  was dropped on the moon like i'm a mars rover, in a matter of hours i have found the transformers on the dark side of the moon. Turns out its not that dark since dem robots are filled with lights, i waved hi to the Russians on the space station, turns out all those stories about space finding humans instead of the other way around is true(soviet Russia joke). They threw me some Heineken beer and I've been sitting staring at the people of this forum and earth since.

Good. Paypal is garbage, and they've banned me for life because I broke the TOS. Oh well.

Turns out its not that dark since dem robots are filled with lights, i waved hi to the Russians on the space station, turns out all those stories about space finding humans instead of the other way around is true(soviet Russia joke). They threw me some Heineken beer and I've been sitting staring at the people of this forum and earth since.

i call that a good company. break any TOS and you deserve a ban

 

Not when they let you use another paypal account for a year, then ban it and limit all the money. They also limited my parents account with money on it too. They then proceeded to try and get us to send money to another account to pay off a negative balance for some other account they had no information on. It was a cluster, so I switched to bitcoins!

I got the same email and was wondering what was up with it.  They've never really done me wrong so I dont really see any reason for me to jump in on it... other than the "free money" part of it

i mean i bet the TOS says you cant make another account so again. you break the TOS you deserve a ban

I've been a victim of this and got money held for years. All because my birthday is Jan 1st, it looks like fraud to their system. Worse, they don't respond to submitted ids and documentation for 6 months or more at points. but they've gotten better in recent years.

For the third time they have limited my account for no reason. This time I found out that i now need to verify my phone number to add money to the account. I thought it was already verified, but I guess not. so I have it send the code: and it does not work. After a few more tires, they locked me out of my account until I can provide a proof of address, SSN, and ID fucking again. Last time this took me 6 months and several calls to their center for them to even look my info over and reconfirm my account, which at the time had a few hundred dollars on it that I could not access until it was resolved.

Fuck paypal.

I don't know what I'm doing wrong.

I'm also locked out of paypal credit, which means I cannot seem to pay my bill. 

Hey paypal, need proof of address? HOW ABOUT YOUR OWN FUCKING BILLS YOU SEND ME?

Well here's an update-

I was really sick today, slept like 12 hours not long after posting this and the identification needed, and it seems I've been cleared about 12:30 EST. I don't know why my account was suddenly locked for trying to verify my phone. Oddly today, it let me add funds without verifying my mobile number, but I did anyway. Same problem before with the codes not making it at all to me, but after a few resends (they resend the same code generally) it actually accepted the code this time.

So while I was randomly inconvenienced, unlike the times a couple years in the past I've had this problem, this was resolved very quickly and is a positive mark in the right direction for paypal in my book.

So for now after 3 or so day (e-checks take time) I should have money in my paypal wallet, which using that instead of my card/bank directly should allow me to avoid the problem I'm having with auto-payments for my donation here.

Now if slick will message me back....

My only experience with them was when I tried to open up an account and was declined as my name was too common. They asked me to fax them a copy of my driver's license.

My AUSTRALIAN driver's license to their offices in the USA!!

WTF?!! They expect me to send them a copy of my primary identification document to a private business in a foreign country?! Who know what they'll do with it and who is looking at it?!

 

Anyway, I kind of disliked them since then.

What could they possibly do with your license anyway? Licenses aren't private, and don't really contain any more information than PayPal asks for anyway (hair and eye color sure but big whoop) unless the Australian license includes more info than it should.

Well, that's it, isn't it? I simply don't know what a foreign company could do with my license, specially since it has my picture and home address. They work under different laws to Australian companies (or foreign companies with an Australian presence) and I simply don't trust them as a corporation or the country they are based in to maintain my private information safe.

if you fill out the claim then you will be audited by a third party. So i guess its free money till you go to prison for lying under law :P
