New evidence suggests a ninth planet lurking at the edge of the solar system

This might have something to do with this "Alien megastructure"? Maybe the planet blocking the light?

Probably not.

Do we have an object named Vulcan (I mean it is the roman version of a greek god, like the others) plus it sounds cool

(I kinda wish they went with the greek names, as most of those sound better also screw rome)

Don't care what they say. Pluto is the ninth planet.

Don't screw with my solar system. I liked it the way it was!!

This other object would be #10. I can handle the growth, but don't diss Pluto.

It's always a good day if you woke up breathing.

First off planets dont give off that much light (especially ones this far away) second i think the alien mega structure your thinking of is called a Dyson sphere and that wasnt blocking  a planets light that was blocking a different suns light (this sun is many many light years away) and their was no definitive proof as to if its a Dyson sphere or something else like a large cluster of asteroids. To answer op question if its a small world that gets very little light maybe Tartarus (keeping with the whole roman theme)

I never said it was a Dyson sphere nor did I say it was proved to be a mega structure, I merely pointed out that, (I have limited Space knowledge) that the planet could have been blocking the sun which would result in it looking like less light and Dyson sphere conclusions. I never said this planet was emitting light, and every person I have spoke to about this has referred to it as a "Alien megastructure" I am well aware of what a Dyson Sphere is, I am just pointing out what most are calling it.

I call it bullshit

Yeah but if it's at the edge of the solar system.... looking for it would've been a little hard.

And there is very good points towards it being there by a very reputable scientist.

People used to say the same thing about the idea of something being past Neptune, citing the exact same argument.

And then we found Pluto.  And then Charon. And in no particular order, Styx, Nix, Kerberos, Hydra, Eris, Dysnomia, Makemake, Namaka, Haumea, Hi'iaka, Sedna, 2007 OR^10, Quaoar, Weywot, Vanth, and Orcus.  It is a pretty big sky.

Dammit we should rename that, I'd like to have a planet Vulcan, and I don't even like star trek, hmm guess they'll have to pull from some other mythology if they want a planet name, I vote norse or the greek

Its hypothesized to be a giant icy planet.  I think Loki would be a cool name.

Necro bump, but it's good!

Google hangout of astronomers and people that work in astronomy that discuss this in detail.  Just play it while you're cooking/doing choirs.
