My First Gaming PC Build... Help

Im looking to building my first gaming pc and this is what i've come up with.

Motherboard: MSI Z97s SLI Krait Edition LGA1150

Processor: Intel Core i5 4690K

GPU: MSI GeForce GTX 950 DirectX 12 2GD5T OC 2GB

RAM: HyperX Savage 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3 1600

Storage: Wester Digital Blue 1 TB HDD 7200 RMP

Power Supply: Rosewill RD 600-M-Series 600 Watt Modular ATX, 12V SLI and Crossfire Ready

Case: Corsair Carbide Series 100R Mid Tower Case CC-9011075-WW

Will this build work? Im looking for thoughts, comments and recommendations.

Note: My budget is about the cost for this current build.

Ditch the 4690k if all that leaves you room for is a 950. In a gaming PC the graphics card should be a priority over the CPU.

If anyone asks you never saw me.

I would try and push the budget for a better graphics card like a r9 380

It will work but if you're looking to game you'd want to get a lesser CPU and a better GPU. Such as an i5-4460 and a GTX 960 / R9 380.

Looks pretty good but I wouldn't go for the rosewill power supply, they have a pretty bad reputation overall.

seems like the 380 is very popular.

Question. Why do most suggest a SSD and HDD? cant just one big SDD or one big HDD be enough?

SSD+HDD is the best budget to performance mix. (120GB SSD and a 1 TB HDD. Getting a 480GB for 120 isn't that bad either)

Budget, a large enough SSD would be far too expensive for most of us.

If anyone asks you never saw me.
