2016 presidential election

warzkaz

I don't agree with all of your opinions but you are smart and funny I'll give you that lol

I seem to like cars, computers and politics. Somehow that was a thing.

How do you think we could get more people involved in politics? Just curious.

Two ideas: get a better educational system, or make it so that people need to pass a randomized test to register to vote. Because imao if someone can't be assed to be involved in something that affects them and everyone around them so directly, then they shouldn't be voting. I can't imagine how many people there are in this country who go to vote without knowing anything about what the policies of the candidates are. I wonder how different the elections would be if those people were ousted from voting.

Not that I'm that enthusiastic about voting myself - I know the general idea of the candidates' policies and the bases for their campaigns, but I also know that they're all lying, scheming bastards who'll say anything to get into office, because once they've won, they can immediately avail themselves of any responsibility to follow through with their promises. If Trump weren't in the race, I'd probably be like "hmmmm, well, none of these liars will ever do what they say they will if they win, and we know this given their own personal records, and... well, all of human history, so... I may as well just not bother."

I know it probably sounds hypocritical of me to be apprehensive about voting yet think that others shouldn't be able to if they haven't done their research, but the truth of the matter is, I have done my research, and looking at how rigged and broken the system appears to be, the thought of just playing along and being a blind little cog in the machine is really off-putting to me.

and that's why public healthcare and taxing system is so fucked in the US, none of you actually care about your society, every single one is a lone wolf.

Europeans side with parties which ACTUALLY represent their views and shit gets done.

Even if the whole US had different opinions, at least, maybe they could represent themselves.

No, no thats actually an interesting way of doing things. Good on you for thinking about this! I agree that people should be well informed before voting.

No, there are people fighting to have AK-47s, M16s, and other rifles like that for home use.  I don't get the point, but ya soldiers use them too.  However, there are people wanting to have automatics guns that are so huge that they require a turret due to the weight at home.  I don't get why one would need that much fire power for personal use like that.  We aren't talking about soldiers, but like say your neighbor wants one...that's what we're talking about.

I don't think many people, or anyone for that matter, can own that.

Now that's how you treat and act to someone in a conversation, that is by far the best "we can agree to disagree conversation" I have seen on this forum in a long time. kudos to you guys for handling this in a mature and kind fashion. +1 to both of you.

Well thank you. I would rather let people feel comfortable with their opinions than anything else.

Rand Paul is probably the closest to someone I'd want for president. If a vote for Trump is a vote for curb stomping the news media and PC culture though, that's probably where I'll throw it.

But, that's not how US politics works.  If I did care enough it wouldn't matter because politics is so corrupted with money.  Even if there was a politician that could fix the health care crap here it wouldn't matter because that doesn't help drug companies and doctors stay rich.  So, there's no money towards a politician like that.  Even if there was things would get rigged.  That's how American politics works.  It's not about power in the people, or how many people care.  It's about profit.

The NRA is saying that it's against the 2nd to not let them have those.  That's primarily who fights for it.

Not in the US.  It's about profit, not majority vote.

Oh right. Thanks NRA. Forgot about the other half of the second? lol

We should put some regulations on that cash flow then.

I haven't seen one person ever in my lifetime fighting to legislate the legalization of automatic firearms to the regular consumer. Maybe that's just me.

Europeans side with the people who speak their language (in terms of politics,) same as anywhere else. Except in Europe it's more of a circlejerk of preaching to the crowd.

I used to be quite active here.

Mainstream media is horrible no matter what. Fox, CNN, etc. PC culture is not just a left wing thing, it's right wing too. I don't think the president controls either of these however.

I think none of the candidates are very good. Hopefully someone will join in a bit late and have policies everyone can agree on.

The least I want is trump, but isn't he out of the election though?

Bernie sanders seems sketchy but he brings out racial issues and all sort of other issues in our society but the extreme taxing of the rich is a little bit overboard

Not sure about Hillary but she seems like the less sketchier candidate out of all of those three

My vote goes for hillary for first and second for Bernie....Donald trump doesn't get my vote

Don't call me a nerd, it makes me look slightly smarter than you

Well not lying, yelling about Muslims, or trying to take guns away would be a good start.

I was referring to Clinton with lying, you know the whole email server deal?

As for Trump, he complains about Muslims/Hispanics to much. He needs to realize they are American citizens and deserve to be treated as such. However at the same time keeping illegals out is pretty important in my opinion, but the wall is just plain insane.

One of the few points I agree with Sanders (please note I haven't researched much) is that he doesn't want to take guns away, however I don't like the Socialism aspect of him. He does seem like a nice guy but he wouldn't get my vote. Anyways if that wasn't clear I live in an area where guns are important and as such I believe they need to be legal.

I think Jeb Bush is a terrible candidate as well. The NSA is bullshit, spending tax payer's money to spy on them is ridiculous, especially because they haven't even caught anyone worth mentioning.

I didn't say it was left or right, but I don't like either. It isn't that a president would control culture or media, but how they present ideas and themselves to the media, and in turn the people consuming that media.

Where has he complained about Muslim or Hispanic citizens? Why is a wall insane?

If Trump wins I will lose all hope in humanity.

I'll be honest. He has some not terrible ideas. They aren't the best but I'd say if prefer him over any democrat any day. I'm not going to get into a big debate over this because id probably go too far and get banned lmao. I have strong opinions.

Yes I do xD Who could forget? Oh right, everyone.

Exactly! That's a great way of doing it. Maybe a slightly more straightforward way of immigrating here? I don't know.

That's ok! The fact that you value politics in some way is more than enough for me. I still recommend research though ^^ I don't think he wanted to take away guns, actually.
