bare minimum is 60 fps at whatever your monitor's native resolution is.

Solve your own audio issues  |  First Steps with RPi 3  |  Humidity & Condensation  |  Sleep & Hibernation  |  Overclocking RAM  |  Making Backups  |  Displays  |  4K / 8K / 16K / etc.  |  Do I need 80+ Platinum?

If you can read this you're using the wrong theme.  You can change it at the bottom.

So many Native-Natives saying go Native :)

Who says he has to... he's after better performance, not lower.

720p/50 would be a nice sweet spot.

A little blurry in comparison to 1080p, but lower input latency compared to 1080p/30

It's a shooter, so more FPS than 30 would be ideal (for me)

Maximums - Asus Z97-K /w i5 4690 Bclk @106.9Mhz * x39 = 4.17Ghz, 8GB of 2600Mhz DDR3,.. Gigabyte GTX970 G1-Gaming @ 1550Mhz

Hey, I stand by my comment.  If you cant achieve 60 fps at native resolution, and settings are already at minimum, you have two options: upgrade your GPU or don't play the game.  There are things I'll adjust but some lines I just won't cross :)

Why care what we think? Try both for yourself and use what you like best. F our opinions on this matter. Im not the one playing the game, you are

For me, I will lower all the settings until I get 60fps constant, if that doesn't work I go look for fixes because a i7/390 combo should be able to get 60fps constant on nearly all games at 1080p on the lowest settings, if not it's probably a crap port and requires 3rd party tweaking.

The only games I can play at lower than 60fps are MMO's, probably because overhead/3rd person camera instead of a FPS.

Youre probably right.. Its just that right now im playing on 1024x768 and i feel that im gonna need binoculars just to see something.. I have an gtx 745 and im saving money for an r9 390 but its not going to be so soon.. Thought about getting a 960 but its just not strong enough.. I wanna feel like a badass just for once even if it will last one year, just to feel how it is to run games at highest of the highest settings..

For now im trying to find a sweetspot with my crappy card.. Id better put a piece of wood instead of the 745.. It will run games better for sure

I don't play high speed fps games, I spend hours on end just driving around in JC2(and now 3) or playing KSP for example, so the aliasing hurts me to look at more than lower frame-rates.

But, when playing in a LAN with friends I'll turn down all the settings and up the FOV to what would normally be too ugly for me, just to get the extra frames for accurate mouse movement and reactions. (but there is always that one guy in COD2 who throws 50 mother f'ing smoke bombs and slows our craptops (school recommended netbooks) to 2 fps).

Then do what you can to make it look good for you. There will always be trade offs but you have to work out what is worth it personaly.
