Rumour iPhone 7 Plus may add 256GB model as well as a LARGER BATTERY!

RIP to the Apple Genius when customers come to have their phone data backed up. The phone needs to have at least usb 3.1 speed.

Also imagine those simpletons not bothering to do back ups and losing all their data

But iPhones still use USB2 controller through the lightning port. So USB2 speeds transferring 256GB  :D ! LMAO!

...unless they screw all their customers over again by moving to usb-c

Nope. They like Lightning. My guess is the iPhone 7 will use a USB3 controller just like the iPad Pro does.

gg backwardscompatibility though - it's going to be hit or miss with a lot of peripherals.

Besides they could just have a SECOND port that is usb-c, but noooooo, that would be too much good engineering. (looking at you too, samsung etc.)

at least i can have hope they're bringing back the 32gb model, as a base. 16 is just pathetic for today's age.

$1099 wtf my computer was only 100 bucks more and it has a 970 + i7, this is why I don't buy apple products (or smart phones in general)

Oh really? And does your PC fit in your pocket?

I hate apple for their prices too and had not single product made buy apple. but that's not fair comparison.

I do not have iphone because i love android and if you give me iphone 6s or nexus 5x/6p i would take 5x or 6p.

those that do backups
those that have never had a hard drive fail.

Well Apple lets users download movies. But I have a feeling i know what this'll be used for and it ain't pretty.

all the porn in the world actually wouldn't be too bad.

It could be cheaper but this is an educated guess.

I have a secret to confess. *moment of silence*. I love Macs almost as much as I love PCs. In a perfect world I would own macs and PCs. An iPad and Surface Pro 4s.

Don't hate. Don't judge.

i feel you. i actually love the design of their macbooks and i actually considered getting one on black friday.

I can see tablets using that much space but 256GB on a phone seems pretty extreme.

The bigger battery does not. The phone manufacturers have this delusional idea in their head that we want razor thin devices that we can barely hold on to. A bigger battery would mean they can't do that.

Remember how Jonny Ive said that if the iPhone were thicker, we wouldn't love it as much?

My mom likes the way how my Droid Turbo fits in her hand better than the iPhone 6S. Mostly because Motorola gets it and shapes their phones like a hand.

I think that's a good amount of storage. I use my phone like my PC, its loaded with music, pictures, and videos. I'd keep 1tb on it if I could.

same with the LG G3. that thing has a nice curved back and it feels nicer in the hand. But the case my mom put on it by incipio feels too bulky.

Why is it that Motorola and LG are the only phone OEMs that get it and shape their phones like hands rather than a flat slab?

Wouldn't you love to have a microsd card to dump that footage in and to transfer it over to your computer while still having your phone in your pocket? ;) I'm not saying nobody needs more storage, I'm saying they don't need a 256gb iphone to get it.

not only that, but you also have the cloud. google drive sells 1tb of storage for only 8 bucks a month, cheaper than it would be to get a 256gb iphone. you could have a 16gb iphone and still have 1tb of cloud storage at your disposal.

that's also true, although good luck uploading 100gb of data to the cloud in a reasonable time ^^

Wait wait wait.

I know the OP doesn't like to think for more than a couple seconds when he's looking through dank headlines to post in the tech news section, so this may very well not even be remotely accurate.

But I said before on this forum that Apple is going to have to be the one to make the push for larger storage and a larger battery and the market will follow. 256GB of storage may seem like a lot, but would you rather them release a phone starting at 16GB with a super high price tag again?

I'm not worried about what they're charging for it. What I'm saying is, if they do make the push to put in super large storage and larger batteries and stop pulling the stupid "elegant design" excuse, the market will follow them and it'll be good for everyone, even those on Android like myself.

and i'm glad that they're considering bringing back the 32gb model as a base, instead of 16, where all you can store is a cracker.

I have nothing against larger storage - that comment was not to say "nobody needs that much storage", it was to say that there are very few occasions where one NEEDS to buy an iphone regardless of how much storage it has. Even if they needed all that storage, the fact that the iphone has no microsd slot makes it less flexible than another phone even if it has only 64gb.

i'd prefer a micro sd slot over a 300+€ to add on top of the already expensive base model
