Hi, I have a Corsair CX600M PSU and a GTX 780 SC right now and I want to upgrade to an EVGA G2 750W because I have heard that the CX600M is unreliable. I also want to save up money for a new GPU (Pascal?) So do you guys think I should save the money or is my PSU good enough for now. Thanks!

No but I don't want it to just die and take my whole PC with it.

How long have you had it for?

Since fall 2013

You should be alright, but I still recommend going for the EVGA G2. It's a huge step up. :P

Really? I've heard quite the opposite from other people.

Yes. The people yelling about CX psus exploding are exaggerating about the quality of the units.

There are plenty of people running gtx 780's on cx600's perfectly fine. It's not an issue.

CX 750M is a good unit, It's a rebranded from CS 750M. which is decent. like it's on Tier 2 I guess.

Not saying it's going to explode, but it's not made for the intended build type.

I'm not sure what Corsair had in mind when making the psu but I do remember CX psus being advertised for gaming systems a while back.

Ask the people from where you bought your parts from. I have a Chinese PSU 600W platinum and everyone said "change it". But i ask my store and they said id the power supply fail and took down any parts along the way - they still cover the warranty..

See if your store do the same thing.

I wouldn't keep it past warranty date. The life expectancy of cheap PSUs is usually quite low.

The unit itself is advertised as a basic one for office use or an HTPC. Not for gaming or OCing. Your call.

Thanks!

Save up for the new GPU in a few months. Your psu is fine as long as you're not pushing it to its limit.
