So as noticed this project has entered a bit slower progress stage. I've started to call what I've done so far as Revision 1. as everything works as should it just needs some spit and polish all around. At least for the next month or so I'm going to focus on fixing small stuff as I notice it (like the feet that could not handle the weight of the full case). I've also started to save money for "final" hardware.

Right now I'm thinking in lines of Asus Gryphon or Maximus VI Gene as motherboard with 4670K processor for it. If I happen to win in lottery or other similar miracle happens Rampage IV Gene with some Ivy-e would be ideal stuff to put in. Too bad that AMD-side does not have mobos to match those on intel side (with looks or specs) in m-atx form factor for I've been aching for while to try out some 8-core building machinery ;) As for psu the most likely candidate is Seasonic G-450 and of course again if lottery... etc. I'll just buy Seasonic P-660 XP2.

And finally some words about future cooling plans. In this territory my mind is going bit wild right now and I'm dreaming of building bit steampunk-inspired full-watercooling loop with rigid copper tubing and fitting accessories. But still on only tought level with it. I'll try to learn to use some modelling software and do some pictures to illustrate what I'm thinking of later :D

Long time no see, but finally back with "final" pictures this build. The word final is in " -because this is not actually nowhere near finished and these pictures are mainly just for the reason I entered this build into Cooler-Master's mod competition. But here is the revision 1.2 in all it's glory :)

From the front:

New bit more toned down legs for the case:

Fixed back panel ( the previous one was bit wonky under the MoBo-tray):

I added some brushed aluminium inside to hide ugly wires and to give quite funky effect to the interior:

And for the heck of it, a mood shot of the interior:

So here we stand now. I'm still currently unemployed so I've got no budjed to work this build further right now (nor fix the freaking hdd that decided to die on me without warning). But slowly and surely I'll continue my work towards rev. 2.0 :D

It looks amazing. You should do something similar with one of these:

1366923896755.jpg

I bet you could fit a decent APU on a M-ITX board in it.

That old apple could be quite fun project too (and I think that apple case could hold at least m-atx board, if not even atx), but I think that it's not project for me. Most of all here in Finland old apple computers tend to cost a quite a bit and secondly I've done this "retroish-all-in-one" and I'm looking for something totally else to do next ;)

I bet you could get a broken one in decent shape for cheap on eBay. My middle school woodshop/Photoshop teacher had a pile of them and similar models. (Quite a few old portable PCs too.)

This thread has been dead for 3 months. Yeah it's awesome, but it wasn't really necessary to bump it.

Although I do agree gravedigging is bad, this is not something that's necessarily able to die, he put work into it and it's not like "Hey, what do you think of this and this case" in which time is essential.
