Who Is Standing at Their Desk?!

I just got over a week of back pain. The thing is, I already have a super expensive chair.

So my questions are these:

  • Who is standing at their desk right now or at least part of the time?
  • What is your stand vs sit ratio?
  • What type of work / stuff do you do?

I'm wondering how practical these fancy standing desks are.

Sit stand ratio is 40% standing and 60% sitting.

How practical? This one does what I need it to do so I guess it's good.

My dad used to have back pain from constantly sitting at his desk but now he has a Herman Miller Aeron and hasn't complained about it since.

That just sounded like a company slogan, sorry.

I never stand at my desk because it's impractical for my setup. I also have high arches and bad joints, so standing for long periods of time puts me in a good deal of pain. I probably should alternate between standing and sitting, I'd imagine it would do wonders for my health once I get past the foot and joint pain.

I can't stand for long periods. My feet and ankles start to hurt and soon after my whole back gets cramps. Sitting or walking are much better option. Thats why when I do job where it would be standing, I prefer to sit when waiting and stand when I see customer.

They really are. They look kinda dumb but you realize how comfortable they are after you've sat in on for a few hours.

I don't have standing desk but even if I did I doubt it would help my spine.

My right foot is a little bit shorter so when I am standing my spine is bend to the right so standing hurts my spine about as much as sitting.
