Ah...yes, tell me if every site you visits starts to ask for a subscription fee is acceptable then.

That would be an ad.

I run my browser through NSA ports to make their illegal jobs easier. :P
If it's not broken, take it apart and fix it.

I don't care if it blocks the ads that open a new tab and won't let you close the window with pop ups. But if it is just a nice simple ad I don't care.

Advertisement at its core, is essential. It informs about one product. A perfect example, is looking at Microsoft, many product completely failed due to a lack of advertisement.. forget good ones, we are not there yet.

Advertisement can be smart, well made and educative. Now the ones that flashes in your eyes like a strobe light going "VIRUS VIRUS VIRUS!!!!" well I agree with you. I don't get how any ad agency would accept those one. Or those filled with empty promises or false advertisements. Google ads got massively popular due to the well and simplistic design.

If they didn't have full screen takeover ads, autoplaying sounds ads, or 5min Youtube ads, I wouldn't need it.

The future of adblocking is probably unblocking ads. What makes me say this, is the steps toward "acceptable ads". I don't mind turning off Adblock on LTT forum, because it doesn't pop up in my face saying "buy dis n git melweer 4 fri", but is a rather stylish ad. Making ads look good on a website, and making them non-intrusive (certain website have a popup every 5 minutes or so, reading articles is a pain w/o adblock) is the future

So it looks like big name company's are starting to voice their opinion on intrusive ads now too. I have no problems with ad blocking when it comes to those sites your not too familiar with that have a history of having bad ad's (ex- torrent sites) or on websites that like to use your personal information they gathered on you to try showing you stuff that they think your interested in, mainly cause i got kids that use my computer and i dont want them to see an ad that shows them the newest iteration of erection pills... 

 

I personally hope when they do this that they have just the intrusive ads blocked by default and not all ads. that way sites like ltt and youtube'rs dont get the shaft harder.

I'll put all morals aside and say that YouTube ads are really annoying, since some of them are long, loud, and in the case of long videos, there is a bunch of ads. I personally use YouTube Red so I think I still support Youtubers(not sure how the price breaks down, but meh), but I am enjoying not having ads :P

This is not a good direction to do.

Mobile web browsers should support extensions.

Not a custom web browser for every extension.

Also, ads pay for server cost, including this very forum, and sometimes, with bigger sites, pay people (for example: Ars Technica has reporters, which are paid, and make a living)

Firefox Mobile has supported desktop extensions for the longest while. I use them daily.
