Headphones for gaming please help

Blitzz71

Hello so I've decided it's time to upgrade my Audio Technica ATH-T500 headphones. I'm mainly gaming and using teamspeak. I already have Samson Meteor Mic so please don't tell me to get Kingston Hyper X Clouds. :D I live in Lithuania (Europe) and my budget is around 200€. Shops would be

http://wwww.hifipasaulis.lt

www.muzikosfaktorius.com

www.skytech.lt

Or amazon.co.uk is also a viable option (do not include shipping to around 200€ budget)

Thanks.

The headphones I use for gaming are the Razer Kraken pro, very nice sound quality, good noise isolation, the quality of the mic is ok for teamspeak although it is a bit "dry". But if your motherboard supports 7.1 audio, maybe the Razer Tiamat is something for you. I'm not familiar with any of the brands (except sennheiser) on the first three websites

Yeah no. I've had Krakens and they really do not sound good nor has a high sound stage. But still thanks. :D

Umm do I really need a soundcard? I have a motherboard with ALC1150 and also my Samson Meteor Mic has a DAC inside of it...

It is an option.

You have basically too much money to spend on headphones right now.

Would personally just get HD598, even though it's wayyy before your 200euro

How would DT990 Pro, AKG K612 Pro, HD558, HD 598, DT880 Pro, DT770 Pro, Custom One Pro, AD900X compare to each other? Which one's the best?

Okay so I narrowed my list to:

DT990 Pro's

HD 598's

Im leaning towards HD 598's because:

Huge cups

Nice color scheme

From what I watched and learned these headphones has a lighter high range sounds refered by audiophiles as smooth or easy to listen too and not too harsh as opose to DT 990's

Open back

Very very comfy

If I am wrong with choosing these pls inform me. :)

Personally, I'd take DT880 over DT990 as 880 in general is more balanced sounding. HD598 IMO isn't in the same class as DT880 as HD600 is more DT880's true rival. Another option that I could recommend is AKG K702. K702 might come across as more analytical sounding or bright to some but the headphone has great imaging and soundstage

DT880 Pro is above my budget, HD 600 is well above my budget. Gonna do some research on K702...
