I have a CX430 on my HTPC, never had a problem, now I added a 750Ti seems fine.

I new the reputation it had but it was the cheapest I could get from a known brand so... I don't see the problem, it runs fine.

Although if you are running anything higher than my 750Ti/i3 you are probably better off getting something like an xfx.

It will probably handle 2 GTX 950s in SLI without exploding.

Everyone keeps saying it's cheap and horrible....

I've been running a 500W for 3 years, 24/7....

No issues so far.

that's because someone had one fail. And sadly it was the local someone, so now they keep going around telling everyone to stay away, even though amazon and newegg reviews are full of satisfied customers with one or two units failing. I think the fact that cx psu's are so popular is hurting their name, too many failures, even if percentage of them is really low.

1) Shitty capacitors

2) Not design for high performance gaming PC or overclockers.

3) It design for basic PC such as HTPCs or business computers.

those both are complete BS, it's a psu. there is no such thing as high performance gaming psu. it's like saying high performance gaming wall socket.

That did not exactly answer my question. Shitty capacitors okay. But if it is e.g. rated for 850 watts it has to be able to handle 850 watts. If it didn't corsair must be crazy to give a 3 year warranty on them.

So as long as you can read and understand what the product description says you're safe to use them and they are not shit in any way?

so what? it's rated at 500W it will deliver 500W it doesn't matter what you use those watts on. You might as well boil water with a kettle using that psu, it doesn't know what you are doing, all it does is convert power.

now, i'm not arguing that it's amazing. it might be not the best quality and it might fail because of manufacturing problems, but it certainly doesn't matter if you overclock or you game on it.
