Custom fan curve in Windows?

aeroencychris

Hi,

My BIOS on my mobo (ASRock B85M-ITX) is pretty eh and doesn't have great options for fan curves. I'd much rather control it within Windows. Is there a good program to do this? I'd like to control the CPU and case fan (for GPU I use Afterburner). Thoughts?

Thanks,

-Chris

Unless asrock supplies you with programs to modify the fan curve, you will be stuck using speedfan (pretty clunky).

For example on the newer asus motherboards, the aisuite program allows you to modify the fan curves.

I was hoping there would be more than that... *sigh*

I guess I go back to the BIOS then.

Thanks.

I feel your pain. The fan control within my bios is near non existent, but thankfully the software pulls some slack.

SpeedFan is pretty good for controlling fan speeds though, albeit not that straightforward.

I have tried using SpeedFan, but without success... Everytime I set up a custom curve for every case fan I have, it either doesn't spin or spins at full RPM when it reaches a certain temperature mark, for example 65 degrees Celsius. Anyone has an idea for a possible fix?

What settings did you tweak?
