should i get the GTX 980 kingpin or the GTX 980ti classified or wait for the 1080/1080ti (if thats what there called) 1080p 60hz gaming. battlefield 3/4 battlefront starwars fallout 4 and minecaft

yh the classified wins

because the 980 ti is a much better gpu over the 980.

just because the 980 is kingpin doesnt mean anything.

a 1600 MHZ overclock 980 couldnt beat a 980 ti at stock, and the 980 ti has room for overclocking.

Up to you. We don't know how much of a performance increase the new cards will be.

 

If I were buying today, I'd get a 980 Ti classy, though, personally.

It does beat a 980 ti at stock.  But you can always OC the 980 TI.

 

I get nearly 18k GPU score on firestrike at max OC, stock 980 TI gets like ~16.5-17k.

Classified is a waste of money. My 980ti Hybrid can get higher overclock than some classifieds... just marketing rubbish.

 

Get the FTW edition 980ti it actually does better then the classy, or go for something like MSI Lightning or Gigabyte G1, both of which overclock very well.

 

1080p gaming is fine with 980ti but 60hz is a bit crappy, i'd get a monitor next if I was you.

Where are you located, can you get a Lightning instead?

 

It's a better card than the classified. Worth the extra few dollars IMO.

Maybe it can get higher because you got lucky in the silicon lottery and it's watercooled... Classys and Kingpin both are binned chips to get the best overclockers each time.

The new GTX Pascal cards are coming in Q3 2016.

Are you saying this because of the retarded video LTT made with 980's and not 980 ti?

 

Their classified wasn't even boosting to it's stock rated boost clock, clearly something was wrong with it.

You should really see if you can spend a tiny bit extra and get a Lightning,  the cooler is WAYYYYYYYYY better and LOADS quieter than the 980 TI Classified.

I am stating it because I owned a 980 classy prior to my 980ti's. Maybe i got really unlucky with it I don't know, but I used to always get a classy or a kingpin card till the 900 series, where it disappointed me badly. Read up a few reviews online too (mainly in the UK) and people are not so happy with it. It's why it's on par with the FTW edition in price, yet it OC's less, from what I have seen here anyway.

 

I might be wrong but it's just based on the stats i've seen here over in the UK.
