In what ways do you miss old tech?

Sometimes I get tired of all the updating and complicated things. Remember when you would Put in a game disk and out of all things it would actually play the game? Or when you turned on windows 95 and it did'nt auto update? Yup those were the good old days what happened to pure simplicity? Tell me what you miss about the old tech.

I do miss when you would get a game cd or dvd's they would normally come with some map or something extra. I remember opening civ 3 and getting a layout of the tech tree options, good times when you need something to read and poop, all before cell phones. I also miss payphones in movies, that premise is gone, Neo would would never make it to the matrix without a hard line, the machines have won

When I was 4 (2007 ish) I had a old television I miss those days

1. When mechanical keyboards weren't as expensive as they are today.

2. Not having Windows harass me on my other rig to upgrade to Windows 10 on it as I want it to stay on 7.

3. XP and older startup sounds.

4. Going through my drawer of games on discs to see which one I wanted to play (Was more interesting I guess)

5. Didn't have to spend most of the Windows setup disabling settings involving privacy things then continuing once Windows is completely installed.

I miss my XBOX original, it was a great console. Played so many hours of Halo 1 & 2.

 

I don't miss anything else. For me, everything new is awesome.

I miss playing 2 player medal of honor on ps1 and ps2 with my brother, or the nights after we got a new game and we would stay up all night playing our new game together, I miss taking turns playing games on the pc like the original sim city, and need for speed 2 se. Now my brother lives 450 miles away and his wife won't let him play computer games, heck she barely lets him get online.

I've got a few...

 

1. When gaming still used to be fun, roughly around the 5-6th generation. Lately it feels like a crapshoot. People care more about how the game looks than how fun it actually is. 

 

2. The MP3 craze (2005-2008 or so). Those were fun times.

 

3. DEMO DISCS (These are still my jam, I got a pile of them somewhere).

Fun fact, The Witcher 3 and Fallout 4 both came with some thing like that, a Map and book of basic info about the game for the witcher, and a poster of the perks for fallout.

Skyrim came with a map on PS3 I seem to remember (I don't think I bought a special edition either, just standard)

I miss playing co-op Champions Return To Arms on the PS2 with my brother, and taking turns playing Rollcage and Wipeout on PS1 before that. I also miss being able to be careless with my phone and charging it, as well as the gameboys that you had to have a light-source to use, I remember I had a frame thing that clipped on to the screen to shine light on to it, that was so dodgy
