unable to install AMD's Radeon Crimson hotfix

so as everyone knows by now, AMD's new driver is a PoS (frying cards, major bugs, etc) and i'm trying to install the hotfix 15.11.1. It keeps crashing partway through the extraction, is there any way to get it to run the whole way through?

you need to use some software that completely uninstalls all AMD software and then install your drivers from scratch

I haven't heard about this. Is it only affecting certain cards? I have dual Sapphire R9 280s and I haven't noticed any increase in temps.

i already uninstalled all the AMD drivers, and did a driver sweep, but i don't see why that would effect it extracting? it shouldn't cause any problems until it goes to install.

it effected me, it was overriding my MSI Afterburner fan curve, luckily I use Rainmeter to monitor my system and i saw it stuck at 30% and 82C

Have you tried another of the updates?
A beta or older one, as you have already taken the old ones away its odd the install keeps crashing.

Though it is the hotfix to the fan issue I see by the version number.

An alternative, is to shift the file to a thumb drive. On occasion done that with glitchy extraction/installs and suddenly its worked.

Its not my fault I am grumpy, you try having a porcelain todger that's always hard!

i've never had a driver crash on extraction before going all the way back to 13.12, i'll try the thumbdrive method though
