980 Ti: 4K TV

VagabondWraith
Go to solution Solved by Enderman,

I just play on a regular 1080p 55" tv

I mostly play MC though, so input lag is not really an issue

I have played CSGO before, and its noticeable that you need to shoot a bit earlier to hit someone thats around a corner

Even with the input lag, I was still able to get in the top 10 nearly every game, and that was the first time playing a fps game in my life

Since human response time is over 200ms, a few extra ms of screen response time is not an issue unless you play competitive games and want to win every time

Anyone game on a 4K TV? I'm picking up this Vizio 4K TV tomorrow. I've been needing a new TV for a while but will be getting a dedicated G-Sync monitor once Pascal hits. This is just temporary as I'll be selling my old monitor. How is your experience gaming on a TV? This TV is capable of 4K/60FPS.

What's your tolerance level in terms of input lag? This probably isn't ideal if you're going to be playing first person shooters.

I can't stand the input lag on 99% of tv's. Its absolutely horrid, feels like im trying to play with a track ball.

I don't play online or competitively. Just all single player. I thought I read 17ms for this TV which is a far cry from my 1ms monitor. So I don't think input lag is a deal-breaker for me. I guess the only thing I can do is hook it up and give it a try. :)

I LOVE dat 4K though.

I guess its subjective. ;) It was between the Vizio and a Samsung. I thought the Vizio looked better to my eyes.

Thank you. This is a good answer I was looking for. :)

You're welcome :)

and btw non-gaming use for anything, web browsing, video editing, whatever, no noticeable input lag :) at least on my samsung TV

just make sure that if there is a setting for "game" or "PC" mode in the tv settings that you turn that on, if its there it will help a lot

For your own good, just get the Samsung. TRUST me. I've done extensive research on 4K TV's.
