Quadro fx from 2004 100 dollars???

I have recently noticed the quadro fx 1400, a card i own going for an average of 100 dollars on used dealers like ebay, and i was wondering if anybody knows why. I couldn't find any information online to help me.

they're likely not common anymore, and people who need /exactly/ that card will pay for it

Its more than likely a card thats in some enterprise system and a fix for said system is an exact replacement. Even sold listings they tend to go for 70$ or so sometimes, with rare sales dipping into the $30 area.

Its NV41 curie stuff, so its effectively a pcie Geforce 6800 but really cut down. This isnt something desirable for hobbyists, if its maintaining consistent sales like that its almost certainly for some workstation or server model thats being kept alive by a bunch  of businesses.

 

For example thats why mac vbios flashed quadros can be worth a lot of money, and why people flash them to sell them for more. Like a 2gb GTX 680 can be had for $40 any day of the week. But mac vbios ones go for over $100 easily. Its for people keeping old macs alive in some enterprise environment. Theres a mac pro buried in a corner in some business that needs to stay alive, and the gtx 680 that cooked itself in there cant be replaced with anything other than a mac vbios gtx 680 for the most part without complicating the repair. So they pay whatever for a mac vbios gtx 680.

 

Same thing is probably happening with those quadros.
