am i getting ripped off?

i contacted someone on craigslist saying they can sell me a 4790k along with a cpu fan + thermal paste for $350 USD. The fan is an ARCTIC alpine 64 pro rev. 2 and the thermalpaste is arctic silver 5.

you can buy a new 4790k for way less than that, especially if you pick one up before black friday/cyber monday sales are over

Pro Tip: don't use flash when taking pictures of your build; use a longer exposure instead. Prop up your camera with something (preferably a tripod) if necessary.

if you use retarded/autistic/etc to mean stupid please gtfo

Is this in the US? If so, then yes. I wouldn't pay more than $180 for that with it being secondhand, personally.

That's just the issue with some people thinking their used stuff is worth more than it actually is.

I personally don't pay anything close to retail price if someone else has already used it. I may as well buy it new if it comes to that.

Yeah, that's not a good deal at all. Should be at least $100 cheaper.

Haha, I get used markets and such, but $180 is too low. They're $299 on Amazon, and i5's still sell on Reddit for $160.

Make sure to look at the Xeon E3 1231v3 if you haven't already. It's basically a locked 4790k with a little lower clock speed and no iGPU. Normally it's significantly cheaper but may not be with the deals going on.

Buy it brand new for $300, but do it today or tomorrow, because that price will be gone Dec 1st.

Yeah, with the 4790k at $300 I don't think the 1231v3 is worth it at $250. Now when the 4790k goes back up to $340 on Tuesday that's different.
