Guest
Go to solution Solved by Trophywolfe,

An aiw radeon 9700 pro and the fan broke and i never knew so it went up to like 92 C

I hit 57 on the surface of my old laptop power adaptor. It was a 3rd party one. I'm lucky it never burnt me or anything else

i had quad core amd fx 4100 R.I.P overclocked it to 5 ghz on 95w motherboard and cooled it using compressed AIR can and deodorant :) i was on like 1.7v.. it worked... for a short while. used a small plastic tube and glued it to  my cpu, before i knew liquid was on my motherboard and under the socket. the cpu reached 129c LOL.im sure it got hotter but the temp sensor got stuck at 129c The shutdown temp normally is 99c. loads of smoke and artifacting caused by the cpu...

I also killed my GPU in furmark (Zotac GTS450 (FERMI)) i had modded bios with voltages set to max. reached 99c in like 2 minutes. throttled down for few more minutes then system restarted and the gpu was dead.

right now i have core i5 760 @3.5ghz hitting 96c in prime95 (stock intel heatsink)

i destroyed so much stuff by overclocking...

My gtx 780 will get to about 80c when under constant full load. My CPU once got to over 90 degrees c when my cooler stopped working. Luckily I had core temp set to shut the computer down.

Once had my CPU get to over 100 degrees c. I didn't even bother goin through windows to shut it down. I just immediately unplugged the computer. Apparently the fan on the cheap stock heat sink was not working.

Well back a while ago, my Athlon 64 X2 system had a weird temperature issue ... I'm not sure what happened but, I think the sensor had either glitched or failed all together but ... I cold booted the system and went to the Bios, it said (literally seconds after CB'ing) that the CPU was at 72c, felt the heatsink and it was ice cold. So I booted the Computer and went to Windows, opened up HWMonitor to check temps and I came back about 5 minutes later, apparently my CPU was idling at 786c. :/ As for actual temps, my HD 3870 once reached 108c at stock, but that's because the fan had completely failed and I was running Furmark.

I haven't run any benchmarking but playing games with a huge amount of dust managed to hit 81 degrees but since I've cleaned it out it rarely goes above 67 degrees with an ambient temperature of 26 degrees.

My HD 7990 could easily hit 103C on full load with stock cooler. Now its watercooled, and it hit 52-ish celsius @ full load. ^_^

I had an old Athlon X2 5000+ and once I hit 100c on that CPU. Also my mom has a laptop that before I fixed it would hit 99C and throttle itself. I have hit 90C on my GTX 460 once but it was really hot in the room and stuff but even with a serious OC it never goes about 75-80.

When I reinstalled my H100i, it wasn't making contact properly with the CPU. I ran prime95 without knowing that and it shot past 110C and then crashed. I nearly had a heart attack.
