Inverted color to burn into our eyes, then laying back down the black and white to define whats been burned in. Simple enough, still cool every time i see it though.

 

shouldn't really be called an optical illusion though, should be called a brain failure, because that's all that's happening; our brains being unable to interpret what they're seeing.

But I'm also extremely colour blind, so that's probably why.
