Rocksteady: multi-GPU support not practical

Ya, are they forgettign that Nvidia and AMD can also make settings in their drivers/program their drivers to do it?  So, regardless as to what Rocksteady, it don't matter if the HW makers can do it themselves.

You can't improve on something that isn't there to start with.

the game doesn't work with one GPU, why would anyone expect it to run with two

The most hilarious thing is that even with how shit the game runs, it still runs better on PC than on console.

I am able to run this game 60FPS+ 1080p at max settings (I turned off anti-aliasing and motion blur because both of them blurs the image), and ofcourse Gameworks OFF since they have high FPS impact and the effects are very subtle (light shafts only happens when a helicopter spotlights shines on Batman and it has like 10-15FPS impact, Nvidia cannot even optimise basic features right, I won't even bother with the PhysX effects).

Recording using OBS which has a 10FPS impact. FPS counter top right.

This was recorded on pre-November patch (see video date), post-patch did improve minimum FPS a little more.

i7 6700K, R9 290, 8GB DDR4, Windows 10.

Performance is really not that bad, just add 10FPS more to the video above. Game is capped at 90FPS.

EDIT: They use custom SMAA for their anti-aliasing, while their custom solution does not impact FPS (1FPS max) it blurs so much of image, the SweetFX's SMAA is much better.

And before people say you should put Gameworks ON for a true "max" settings. Well no because Gameworks is just a marketing gimmick that is slapped on at the very last minute so that they can make a trailer out of it to entice people to buy Nvidia. It shouldn't be part of any graphic settings preset. It should be separated from the rest of the graphic settings as an optional extra.

That is why most games if you put the preset to "Ultra" it does not change the Gameworks settings, they only let you enable Gameworks manually which shows my point above.

When I make a post, unless I am the original poster or ask for a reply, don't bother replying or quoting me because I don't read them.

Yeah it's impractical alright. When you have the game running on a single core with your virus-esque DRM running on whatever else it can grab, you're CPU bottlenecked even with a singular potato running in the PCIe slot.

You'll find out soon enough I think that they're giving them away in december, they haven't said an exact date so far. I bought it day one with the DLC, I didn't really have too many issues as I was playing most of it on my TV which was 720p so It's a lot less demanding for sure .

The game doesn't even work on a single GPU and people complain about multi GPU's? Come on, get your priorities straight. The game will never work, period, so no need to worry about multi GPU support. This game is a lame duck and should just be ignored on PC.

Watching Intel have competition is like watching a headless chicken trying to get out of a mine field

When games fail this hard, they should just release the code to be open source so we can laugh at how bad these programmers are. Watch the dedicated community fix it in a month.

virus-esque DRM

Mad at somewhat effective drm methods? In what way is it virus - esque, it's worked perfectly in MGSV, Mad Max, Dragon Age, and so on.

Watch that project become the number one thing on github, whole game fixed.

ported to every architecture, documented and maintained better than they could ever do themsleves

I can understand AMD keeping Mantle to themselves before making it open. Asking the O-S community to design a framework is laughable. That's why Linux is so fragmented. When you complete a framework and then ask for the O-S community to comb through it for bugs or to optimize it, you see some of the best of the industry tear into it like a wolf into a downed deer, but boy does the end product come out incredible. Unreal 4 has really improved since it went O-S. It seems someone finally trumped my hybrid ray-trace with an algorithm about 10% faster, which makes me both proud and sad, but that's a testament to what happens when you get dedicated minds working from a strong starting point.

How is it effective? All those 4 games were pirated just as fast as any other, the only difference is the level of rape the actual paying customers are subjected to (the ones stupid enough to buy Denuvo DRM'd games, that is)

And no, I'm not mad, it was never part of a game I was interested in buying in the first place, but I guess on a level of principle it's sickening that it exists.

There is no "level of rape" , denuvo isn't doing anything bad. Otherwise there would be universal issues, when there isn't any problems with the majority of the games that use this method.

From what I've understood, denuvo games are some of the hardest to pirate. Great, and there aren't any issues with it for paying customers. Otherwise name them
