How Do You Transport Your Prized Keyboard?

Recently I have put my old Dell keyboard on the shelf (I used the old one because the keys were hard, loved the loud sound and feel) for a CM Storm QuickFire Rapid (10keyless for easier transportation) and am loving the Cherry MX Blue Switches.

 

I am kind of obsessed at keeping it nice. I use dishwashing soap to wash my hands before I use it so there is no grease. 

 

So my question is; how do you guys transport your keyboards? Just throw it in a bag? I was wondering if there is some type of hard cover case for a keyboard that I could buy in order to prevent it from getting damaged.

I use the original box, though honestly I could throw my Model M to the ground and it would break the ground before the actual keyboard :P

I just throw them into my bags. They are solid enough to withstand that.

this is a mechanical kb, not a cheapo membrane one, you could knock some one out with it and it would be fine,

just throw it in a bag and be done with it.

If you are worried about scratches, just get a sleeve or somethign like that, my old ttesports challenger pro came with one and I use it every time I transport my Quickfire TK

If about the dish soap, I am talking Dawn used for handwashing, not Cascade that goes in a dishwasher. If for the overall obsessive nature, I like to keep my nice things looking nice and take pride of ownership very seriously.

I've traveled to and from tournaments (Star Craft 2 and Brood War) with my Black Widow Ultimate and before that with a Das Ultimate and I have a special static free pleather bag for it.

 

They sell them from time to time at the more exclusive game peripheral dealers.

Anyone who takes my keyboard off of my desk loses a finger. This is a known fact to anyone that comes to my house so it doesn't go anywhere.

Get yourself a microfiber bag like suggested by a lot of people or the original packaging if it is that important. Imo the bag is enough to protect it from scratches. The usual travel bumps won't break a mech keyboard so a hard case/box is too much I think.

I just put it in a plastic bag actually, but I wash my hands before I use it too.

I would put the keyboard in a cloth bag before I put it into my backpack to avoid scratching it.

I throw it onto the back seat of the car... The more expensive a keyboard is the better quality. It can handle not being super padded

The durability of mech keyboards make me think that I don't have to be as careful with it as a membrane.

Personally I don't own a nice keyboard but I'd just chuck mine in my backpack.
