What to do with old graphics cards?

I recently came across three ati 4850s and an ati 6670. I was wondering if there was anything cool I could do with them.

The 4850s are to old for folding, although they would probably lower my ppd anyway since my processor pumps out 10k on 3 cores.

I use my old and mostly dead graphics cards as decoration. I've got a 270X, 7990, 7950, 5450, and a couple Geforce MX2 on a shelf above my desk. Pretty dang edgy right?

Well, you could use them as a coast since you've said yourself you can't really use them for much. Or hold on to them and use them as display cards when you need a cheap easy troubleshooting card.

I KNOW!!!  I felt bad but an auction is an auction.  I described it as it was (outdated card), unlike the people on there that sell one as "super HD gaming card".   It'll probably be back on there or in someones closet in a month

if you do sell them on there you will probably have better luck selling them individully.  seems like with the older gen cards, 2x or 3x cards only go for a bit more than single cards

sell them or disect them to learn about whats actually on the pcb. thats what i would do, id take it apart, interesting to see/learn about where everything is and what everything does and is

its always good to have extra working PC parts lying around for trouble shooting, or you can throw it in a friends or family members PC if its an upgrade for them... or use it as decoration... just google what to do with old graphic cards and look at the images... there's GPU lamps, coffee tables, coasters, wall & shelf decorations...

 

or its always fun to try and take that stuff apart and put it back together again... good way to learn how to solder
