Uhh 960>370, a 380 would be the comparable amd part.

currently have a 270x and while i have not had experience with a 960. my 270x has been great as far as gaming goes . 1080p running games at high or max settings without any issues

The R9 370 compares closer to the GTX 950, where the 950 generally looks like the better choice. As the others are saying, the GTX 960 is more comparable to an R9 380.

The 960 is quite a bit better than a 370. If you can, look for a 380, it usually costs the same as the 960, and performs better to boot.

 

Also, save your money, DO NOT BUY A 4GB 960, the 128bit bus is incapable of using more than roughly 2gbs of vram. There is no performance gain in getting 4 on that particular card.
