cheap things that made your life easier

spartaman64

So what are some cheap purchases that you think were really worth it tech related or otherwise

For me its a micro usb to full usb adapter

like this

http://www.amazon.com/Adapter-Samusung-Android-Windows-Function/dp/B00LN3LQKQ/ref=sr_1_8?ie=UTF8&qid=1444004938&sr=8-8&keywords=micro+usb+to+usb&refinements=p_85%3A2470955011

I can use a keyboard on my phone to quickly type last minute essays or store and access files on flash drives.

http://www.amazon.com/ProsKit-900-015-Helping-Hands-Soldering/dp/B002PIA6Z4/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1444005090&sr=8-4&keywords=solder+clip

This clip makes soldering so much easier as I can use both hands instead of awkwardly holding the wires in one hand while trying to use my fingers to line up the solder

My mic stand was only $15. It is absolutely awesome for the price. I also love having one of those free external batteries. Everything else that I have is expensive  :D

One of the best was a 64 GB microSD card for my tablet.  $30 and massively improved what I could do with it (it has 16 GB internal)

You should test all your locks, and if you can get in, don't lock up anything worth more than $9 with that lock :)

i have one cheapo lock (my bicycle lock but i dont care sine my dayli use bike is a piece og sh!t id rather use my 1956 bike, i use a sturdy padlock and å thick chain to lock it) the rest are good. (House lock is pickable but it takes an hour bechause you alnost cant feel where the pins are.) "2-prong to 3-prong adapters". Living in an old house, these make life so much easier.

Any cheapo cables you can think about.

A 20 dollar soldering iron... Works surprisingly well.

"Normandy" i7 4790K - GTX 970 - Phantom 410 (Gun metal) - Z97 Extreme4 (asrock) - 128GB Crucial SSD - 1TB WD HDD - H60 Refurb. - 7 case fans | G710+ Keyboard, G230 Headset, Acer GN246HL Monitor.

Quick thoughts on system: I7 is extremely quick and I'm glad I spent the extra for hyper-threading. I regret my decision to get the GTX 970, it has horrible coil whine. There isn't any excuse for this terrible whine I and others are having. I HIGHLY recommend a 144hz monitor. Future Improvements/upgrades: Rubber fan mounts, basic speakers, more ram (for a total of 16gb), replace GPU.

144hz is love. 144hz is life. I like to submit unfinished posts then do about 20 edits. I like the Night Theme too.

You should have a look at the "USB Noose"

Not tech related, but best cheap purchase I've ever made was a carton that you put drink in and store in the fridge. No more crappy warm tap water drinks for me.

One of my friends dads taught him how to tie a noose for no reason. :/

Edit: My old 500GB external hdd I got from BestBuy ages ago they gave to me for free... Makes it super easy to put games on my second rig since my internet is shit.

Oh and a badass little pocket knife my friend gave me a few years ago for unboxing stuff... Needs to be sharpened though...

I used to know a ton of knots, the noose was one of them. Pretty useful for a variety of things actually.

I found a neat 42-in-1 multicard reader for $10. It literally reads anything I need it to. Even MicroSD cards for my 3DS and cell phone. It's really freaking handy and i'm glad I found it.
