I call bullshit. You would have had major issues by that point, and why is your cooling solution so bad that it could possibly get that bad? I'm willing to bet it was a false reading due to a faulty sensor or software instability.

It'll be a bug, most electronics will rapidly degrade at that temperature and that is around the average soldering temperature (often 220-280°c) depending on the type of solder used (for sensitive electronics that's actually well above the reflow point which can be as low as ~50°c).

That's definitely an inaccurate reading, Lead-Free Solder melts at ~220C so the chips would be falling off.

All readings that are 2^x (+/- 1) can be considered as false readings, since these are often codes to mark an error by the sensor. Because these codes are not implemented in the software the are also converted into a temeperature, leading to wrong values.

 

The suspicious values are:

 256, 512, 1024 and so on

 -1 (when signed integer is used)
