4k at high settings

1440p ultra

1080p 144HZ

 

would recommend 1440p ultra

4690k or 6600k

if you have some more money and want to have more power in case you need to do lots of rendering/editing/other multithreaded stuff then 4790k or 6700k

Simply saying "AMD Sucks" isnt something thats right at all, AMD CPU's suck at gaming, but they arent all bad at other things.

They don't necessarily suck at gaming. After all, my 8350 (an overclocking BEAST) runs things like BF4 ULTRA SETTINGS 1080p without even topping out in CPU usage.

 

I mean, it is OC'd.. But still.

 

Also, with DX12 I might get at least another year or so out of this good ol' CPU.

Yes, they arent bad CPU's, but they arent the optimal option if youre a gamer. We'll just have to wait for zen :P

Considering that the topic is about over clocking and somebody said "amd sucks" this is hilarious.

The top two world record was held by fx 8350 & 8370 respectively.

In a controlled environment. They want to buy a silicon lottery ticket, so a i5k is the best bet in their budget.

What cpu does everyone think is the best for oc? Around £150-£300?
