They're both very good PSU's.  Looks don't matter either since there's a PSU shroud in the H440.  Go with what you think is right.

theres a psu shroud in the h440, go with which one is longer to hide the cables by the psu shroud. both are great units

Ok I'm going to ask you, offtopic. Does NZXT have the same policy as Corsair? If the coolant on the CPU cooler leaks, they replace all damaged parts?

Hasn't happened to me.  All I know is that their customer support is very slow.

Yes, the XFX XTR 750w is based on the Seasonic G platform. The XTR does, however, offer full modularity, a high quality FDB fan, and a switch to toggle between semi-passive and active cooling.

 

I would go for the XTR if they are in the same price point.

Hmm I'm reading that the CPU power cable is a little short in reviews. Think I'll be OK routing it through the back of a H440 to a Maximus Hero VII? If it's a little too close I'll get the XFX. My friend(a PC builder for 15 years) says XFX is just plain mediocre, and that the Seasonic is just better build quality(contrary to what I read).

The G-series are the modular S12G - mine was fine - yours will be too.

Your friend has his head up his ass (sorry but it's the truth) - XFX are MADE by SeaSonic - they are SeaSonic rebrands - the XFX XTR you were talking about is the rebrand of the G-series

It's interesting how he called XFX mediocre, when Seasonic manufactured every XFX unit.

 

As for the EPS12v cable, the XTR is 655mm long, while the G 750w is 550mm

That version should come as well - probably delayed for some odd reason. I'd also say get a 390 - @ 1080p and 1440p it's more than enough
