RIP Tweety :(

So yesterday I was at my internship and I got a text from my mom, telling me my brother found our pet bird  'Tweety' dead on the bottom of his cage

He was 9 years old at this point, which is above average for budgies. 

 

On one hand we did see it coming/expected it, as he was a lot quieter and slept a lot more than he used.. But on the other hand he was still very much active. I even had him sit on my shoulder the evening prior, not knowing it would be the last time..

Today we buried him in the backyard and we're probably going to make a little thing we could set in the ground, so he will not be forgotten. This is the second time in my life I lost a pet, but the first one I was not attached to as much.

 

R.I.P. Tweety 2006-2015.

May you cause havoc in bird heaven now. You willed be missed

Probably not, can't replace him and it was always a burden to get someone to watch him in vacations (when we were gone)

My relatives had a bird that died to that was sad(looks much like yours actually), but once we had him while they was on vacation and it was so gentle and cuddly not to mention it kissed the mirror and was saying "snuggle snuggle *name*" and that was funny! The only thing he did not like was if I put my finger in his cage then he bit me! :c

Yeah, mine always liked to look in the mirror and talk to himself

The last year he was always very close with you, as in he would cuddle up against you when sitting on your shoulder. He would also sleep a lot on your shoulder..
