NZXT's first mini-itx case is coming?

NZXT is one of only few PC case manufacturers who haven't make any mini itx case. Well it seems their first itx case is coming soon, according to an article from the Japanese tech site Hermitage Akihabara.

On last Saturday, 19 Sept, a Computer store in Japan called "OVERCLOCK WORKS" held a workshop about Z170 motherboards. Since NZXT sponsored this workshop, all the builds in the workshop were assembled in NZXT cases.

Interestingly, in Hermitage Akihabara's article about this workshop, NZXT's first itx case was mentioned in the last paragraph. According to this article, NZXT planned to introduce their first mini itx case in December. Unfortunately no more info about the case was mentioned.

Here is the original text in Japanese, and translated version via Google Translate:

 

"その他、人気モデルのカラーバリエーションが近日発表予定。 さらにNZXT初のMini-ITXモデルの投入予定も明らかに。 気になるリリース時期については「12月頃には発売する予定」とのこと。 注目ブランド初のMini-ITX対応モデルとあって、話題をさらうことになるだろう。"

Unfortunately Hermitage Akihabara's article is the only source that I could find related to this teasing. This was not mentioned in any other articles related to this workshop.

NZXT is the best case maker on the main market, their cases use great materials and have superb layouts.

I hope to see a mATX case too.

 

Lian-Li, NZXT, Phanteks. In that order, are the best case manufactures in the $50 - 200 market, though Lian-Li crosses over into the $200+ market in that area start comparing with In-Win and Caselabs.

I run my browser through NSA ports to make their illegal jobs easier. :P
If it's not broken, take it apart and fix it.

I hope we start to see itx cases that are as small as a console, since the fury nano is a card that was made for super small cases that don't exist yet.

and now we've got small itx gpu's in every price range: 750ti, 960 mini, r9 380 itx, 970 mini, and r9 nano

When I built my clanmates PC with the NZXT S340 I really liked the case. Though I'm not upgrading soon, and not considering a mITX yet, I'm really excited about this.

December? I can't wait until then..Although I suppose I could just run it test bench style on the mobo box. Why can't we see more htpc style cases? Maybe I'm in the minority on this.

I'd like them to make a good regular case first.

(And yes I know I am by far in the minority, but unless it is a super big full tower, I do NOT want a psu shroud. It is only an excuse for bad cable management and takes up valuable routing space.)

BTW (and this goes for every case maker) can we please once and for all stop making cases with fan slots only for 120mm fans?

140s are so much better in every way and the case makers are rarely using margins so tight you can't fit 140s instead.

Just like we basically killed off sub 100mm fans in non-oem cases, 120s need to go the way of the dodo.
