I need a graphics card for a build I'm planning in the future. So far I only have a budget of US$150 for a GPU. I don't want anything used or refurbished, therefore the GTX 760 and Radeon R7 370 fit my price point. I have looked into benchmarks and since the 760 is close to the 960 I had to estimate sisnce there was no 760 benchmarks I could find but I am sure they are there and would love if some could be linked below. Now to the point since I have these 2 GPU's on mind I want to hear your opinion or even better if they are GPU's with the pricetag of 150 dollars better than these link them below as well.

-Thank You

The GTX 760 is better. It's between 950 and 960 in terms of performance.

either way, the 760 is much better than either on them. It performs just under a 280 (tahiti, 7950 rebadge)

It use to - currently the 280 and 960 are pretty much tied depending on the VRAM usage and the 760 is about the same speed as a 950

you are getting 280 and 380 mixed up.

a 280 is a rebadged 7950, competes with the 760.

a 380 is a rebadged R9 285, and competes with the 960.

a280 is slower than a 258 by a small margin, same goes for 760 vs 960.

You're missing a key point - AMD's drivers are crap. Because of that - the 7950 isn't even fully utilized, I compared Valley scores - the 760 has a score of 1450-ish. The 770 has a score of 1800. I get 1650.

As someone who bought a 370 for a smaller pc, but got forced to use it in my main rig when my 770 crapped out, i would say got for the 760. Im not a fan boy either way, but after a day of running with AMD software/drivers i feel like im stepping back in time, AMD Catalyst Control Center just looks so outdated compared to the Nvidia stuff.

I got the XFX R7 370 Black Edition and even tho its a "low" tier card it sure does run hot and the fans have to ramp up quick to keep the card cool, as someone who likes his rig quiet, i would not be able to live with that on a daily basis.

The 370 is a lower-class card so it's true. I'd honestly blame the color scheme of CCC - Black makes it look fancy :D

At 80$ i could not say no tho, im happy with the performance its gonna bring to my small pc i have hooked up to my tv, but i would never use something like this in my main rig, it also just confirmed that if MSI wont fix my 770 and i have to replace it, its gonna be 970 over 390  ;)

Noise and temps vary greatly from OEM to OEM - example - the XFX 290X ran at 85*C with VRM1 at 95*C.

Sapphire 290X Vapor-X ran at 70*C with VRMs at 72*C.

Noise difference was as you'd expect considering XFX one ran @ 80% fan speed whereas Sapphire one ran @ 55% fan speed

no i'm not. you have a 280. it is comparable to a 760. not a 960. a 960 is comparable to a 380.

AMD drivers are not crap, they seem to be working just fine, considering your 280 is beating the Nvidia competitor by 200pts.

It is now - it wasn't at launch xD - When I first got my card I was using 14.5 Omega - from 2014 - updated to 15.7 Omega and my Witcher 3 Framerate went from mid 45-50 to 55-60 on medium settings.
