parents were afraid of their kids talking at school about what they ate at home - do you understand this? people were fucking terrified! sounds surreal doesn't it?! it fucking happened!

It's a choice in this case though, You don't have to use windows.

Besides if anyone wants to know anything about you, they will find out either way with or without your consent.

(I only know about it because of this rant. My sister watches the show, and she had to show me)

 

At least under our "democracy" questioning the government is just ignored (or socially vilified. Like anyone who was white that didn't vote for Obama being called a racist. Because that isn't racist in and of itself), rather than an imprisonable offense like it is under communism.

Google and Apple have done this for years and have gotten more invasive as time has gone on. MS launches right at the same point Google and Apple are now with respect to how invasive they are, suddenly it's a problem.

And Canada, you have no room to judge when your agencies have unlimited access to your citizens information and can track whatever they want.

All the Win10 spyware is being sent onto Win7 and 8 even with updates off.

all the ones that i found to block from installing using the hide update randomly find there way back out into the open. its a shame i have to google every update before installing and adding the offenders to the sticky note on my monitor

It always makes me laugh when people on the American right call things communism/socialism to ridicule ideas like social insurance which are perfectly compatible with democratic capitalism, as several European countries prove.

It primarily results from our experience with it. Our system is so poorly designed that it's actually done more damage to poor people than it has helped them. It's created a generation of permanent cripples who would rather live "for free" in poverty, rather than work for a living and take care of themselves. Quite a lot of them probably supplement that with "extra-legal income". Not everyone on welfare mind you, but a large number of them.

 

A "social safety net" is supposed to help people get back on their feet, our current system does not do that very well.

I don't argue with that. But it's a misnomer nonetheless. Introducing welfare doesn't change the core economic system.

Our core economy and political systems are broken as well. Only the rich can afford to run for office, and corporations can essentially buy out politicians as well as news media.

Seeing as the OS is downloaded and installed without people explicitly telling it to (and the fact that it does so because of automatic updates settings in W7/8.1 doesn't count, as those have a different EULA than Win10 and are therefore considered different software), the update for many people is an automatic software installation.

 

There you go.   BAN IT, Canada!  This is your one chance to show us that there is at least one reason why we shouldn't bomb you off the face of the earth.

So yeah, you can turn off the worst ones but even if you go full-privacy in the settings, data is still collected and send to Microsoft.
