Place other than iTunes to buy and download music?

I will use iTunes if I must but can I buy and download songs onto my local PC that I can then burn onto a CD with Google Play or Amazon?

i think you can with amazon

other than that, not 100% sure but if you're burning to CDs try finding a place where you can buy .flac music files

I'm just putting together a mix for a teacher who drives a school bus and can't use his phone and aux cord (Against the law). So its just a generic CD player and I honestly don't think it would play a flac song. Probably best sticking to MP3

well if you're throwing a whole buncha music onto it rather than direct ripping to it, then i guess

i meant more you rip the flac files to the CD and the CD uses whatever the format is on there

I usually buy from either Amazon or Google Play Music, depending on where I happen to have a gift card balance remaining. Both give you a limited number of downloads in .mp3 format which (as far as I know) can be played by any player and used in whatever way you like. iTunes cannot compare, in my opinion.
