Just fresh install it. Lot less hussle.

Even after all the steps recommended by some users there can be something left well hidden causing trouble.

Just like everyone above says. Do a clean install. Even if you manage to delete everything, there might still be some fishy programs left in the registry and stuff, so just clean install it. It takes like an hour to do so

Wipe the drive and do a fresh install.

The only surefire way to get rid of headlice is by shaving all of your hair off. That seems to run true for computer storage also.

Just use AdwCleaner. Don't use any other programs .

I recently had a problem with pop-up ads (which I think came from a driver download from cnet or download.com) and after running Malwarebytes, CCleaner, and AdwCleaner, which caught and removed some re-installing browser extensions, I was still getting ads, that would keep re-installing. Finally, Avast anti-virus detected the source while doing a pre-boot scan, and removed it before it could start running with the OS.

Best option would be malware bytes like how everyone above have recommended but you could also go for a fresh install.

There is probably more dirt sitting on the HDD than meets the eye. The pop in ads are probably just the tip of the ice berg.
