Is a Xeon x3430 overclockable?

I know there is a turbo boost option under "optimal settings" BS. I have a DQ57TM motherboard and I want to overclock my Xeon so I can play GTAV at a more acceptable framerate. If anyone can help, I'd be more than grateful! :D

You can up the Baseclock to get a tiny overclock.

Sorta. Not really. There are thing you can do to make it better but not directly like you would usually.

just the base clock

people get mixed results OCing with base clock

 

some people get really high

other get entire system instability, since the base clock also affects your ram and pcie

these chips ARE VERY OVERCLOCKABLE

 

jumper118 had one at almost 4.3GHz

 

Your mainboard will be your limiting factor if at all it supports overclocking. get a p55 mainboard for best results

You sure it's not that 4GB of ram? GTA is pretty ram hungry sometimes.
