Hello. I'm in a bit of a trouble, having to buy a small city type car for sub 20k usd. It's next to impossible to park where I need to park (places usually always taken). Smart seems great for the job, but you can only fit 2 people inside, and in a year or two, I might have kids, so.. Such a pain. Any advice? Ideas? Too bad toyota IQ isn't available here. I'm considering aygo, but it's a bit too big to conveniently park literally anywhere...

It'd probably help if you told us where you were from ;)

Older Mercedes A Classe?

Or, a sport bike. You can park it anywhere. Fits two. If you end up having kids, sell it and buy a car.

With the money saved on buying a car you could save up to live in a nicer area ;)

EU, Croatia. I wanted to buy a bike, but my parents went batshit insane about it and my gf started having heart attacks on that thought

have you ever ridden two up on a crotch rocket? Most scary thing I have ever done. IDK how those pinup girls do that.

My Uncle has a chevy aveo for a work vehicle. His is a standard, and drive kind of like a go-kart. its actually fun to drive down twisty backroads.

How about an Aston Martin? :P

In all seriousness though, they're actually almost within price range. Apparently they go from roughly £21-30,000

They're also a re-badge of a something aren't they? The Toyota IQ? Something that doesn't have a name that'll set you back a few grand.

I did infact. Even worse, I even rode as a second on a bike where you have to hold on to a small metal bar behind your back. Yep, scaaaaary as shit... I wouldn't ride her around on it, though. I'd only risk my head (I need a ride for my job, she's still a student). But it's a no-go anyway.

Chevy seems bigger than aygo, picanto seems as big. They are all good cars, though. I have no issues with buying used, but my parents do. And since they want to chip in.. well why not?

I thought aston martin stopped producing cygnets some time ago, but even if they are available here they will likely be much, much more expensive than the listed regular price. Same with audi, bmw and other brands. I was hoping if you guys knew of some cars like toyota iq, simmilar in size to smart, but perhaps able to fit 4 people inside (2 adults 2 kids), as that solves all my problems. Any of the cars you listed here are great choices, I kind of still like the mazda best, perhaps peugeot 108, or the aygo, but that won't be as parkable as a smart, or IQ.. One option is to buy smart and than upgrade later, true, but it's a loss of money nontheless, car's value drops greatly as time goes, so I'd prefer to get something like IQ or perhaps even a city car rather than having to sell smart and gather cash for another car again :S (and the parking isues won't dissapear, they'll likely get worse, cause they are opening a clinic across my home, and parking is terrible already, on saturdays, literally half of the other lane is illegaly parked as well)
