The SD Card format is in SDFS, which is bootable, or mass writable.

You can reformat it to the same format a usb boot disk uses, but honestly its almost more of a pain than the 10 dollar usb replacement is worth.

If you have a card reader that uses a usb port and is like a flash drive (that look) then probably.

If you have a card reader in your lap top, I don't think it can, most lap tops need a driver for that card reader.

Well just try it and tell us if it works and how did you do it

i don't have a usb card reader but i think that it will work

rufus doesn't recognize the sd card but i'll format it using cmd and i'll get it work. if it doesn't i'll get a flash drive from a friend tomorrow(it's not that urgent and it's 11pm here)

Depends on your BIOS.

If your BIOS doesn't support it, you can try installing Plop Boot Manager on one of your smaller flash drives (or a CD). It acts as a shim for booting from devices your BIOS does not support. Never used it with a card reader before, but it's definitely worth a try.
