I don't like these.

 

You have to set them up, they're loud, clunky, etc, etc.

 

I can go to costco, get a 6 pack of compressed air for like $15 and they last MONTHS

I have a compressor in my garage. I use that when I need to dust things out. Much better.

My broken segate scratch disk and floppy drives will strongly disagree with you. When I say broken I mean the platters are broken and you can hear them crashing around inside the drive, I left it in there to make visitors think my computer is broken :P

Is this worth it in the long run?

When I worked as IT we got one of these. It was so awesome we got a second one for the office.

There is no denial that they are loud. However:

 -> It is better for the envirement

 -> You save money if you use it a lot

 -> Very powerful. Delivers more, in my opinion, air pressure than canned air.

 -> You can angle the blower as you want. You can't with a compressed can, else liquid will come out

 -> Does not loose pressure over time

 -> Allows continuous air flow (air can you are supposed to use it is burst, and wait for the can to warm up (as it will get cold) for minutes). This unit, the device does warm over prologue usage, but does not run hot, and the instructions says that it is normal, and you can continue to use it. Just warmer air comes out.

 

The electric wire is very long, you can probably go across your room with it with much ease.

You have nice attachment which can in helpful at times. The brush is great to remove dust stuck in PCI/PCI-E connectors if you ever clean super dusty systems.

 

I remember, at work we saved considerable amount of money with this unit.

 

If you don't mind the sound, I highly recommend it. And Yes, I have used this EXACT same model. :)
