may i add that status updates give all your friends a notification, and are meant for this exact purpose.

venting about something silly, while not being worth it to make a thread, because there isnt really much to discuss about it.

 

that remains the idea of a thread: the first post asks a question, or pitches an idea, and all following posts are advice, testing results upon the idea, and answers.
