Bruu Betyr

I'm soon to build a new rig for gaming use , and I want to know what case (would like either red and black, white or gray) you'd recommend along with a power supply.

Pc specs:

-Intel Core i5 4690K

-Asus GeForce GTX960 4GB

-Asus MAXIMUS VII RANGER

-8GB (2x4gb) Hyperx Fury 1800mhz ram

-SSD, not sure yet

-1tb western digital

If you have any recommendations on the pc itself please share xD

I would get the cheapest M/B from a reputable manufacture which has the Z97 chipset.

SSD, The HyperX Fury is a good choice.

The PSU i would get one made by EVGA.

A case is really just a case. I do like the look of Fractal's, NZXT's and some from Corsiar and Cooler Master.

If in the budget, definitely go for the 390/970 over the 960, you won't regret it.

Your pc seems good, but do you really need an expensive motherboard? Get a cheaper one and spend the extra on a 970/390

Get an EVGA G1 650w, it's well priced, reliable and has extra wattage for future upgrades.

The case is more personal preference but NZXT and Corsair make some really nice ones.

CPU: 6600K @ 4.6Ghz | COOLER: H100i GTX | MOBO: Asus Z170 AR | GPU: EVGA GTX 1080 Ti Hybrid | RAM: G.Skill Trident Z RGB 16GB |

Go with EVGA G2 G2 for the PSU.

For the Case, Get S340 or H440. Both looks good.

For the SSD, Get Samsung 850 evo.

MSI Z97-GAMING 5 looks good for the Red/Black theme. You don't need that expensive board.

Get a GTX 970.

Intel Core i3 2100 @ 3.10GHz - Intel Stock Cooler - Zotac Geforce GT 610 2GB Synergy Edition

Intel DH61WW - Corsair® Value Select 4GBx1 DDR3 1600 MHz - Antec BP-300P PSU

WD Green 1TB - Seagate 2.5" HDD 1TB - Seagate Barracuda 500GB - Antec X1 E.

I agree with this, people go with really high end motherboards and it is really not needed. I would take a cheaper board and a better graphics card any day.

I usually recommend this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813130779 since it's cheap, reliable, supports overclocking and doesn't have a bunch of extra features that you will probably never use.

The motherboard you linked isn't too much cheaper? And is there much difference between 960 and 970?

Just out of interest? What motherboard do you use?

And does the linked exist in black and red?

I use this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813130772 It's similar to other one but has a few extra features on it and it's black and red.

For my Intel CPU, is it worth keeping the included CPU fan or upgrading to a better one?

The intel fan is quite loud, if you can afford it then get this: http://www.amazon.com/Cooler-Master-Hyper-212-RR-212E-20PK-R2/dp/B005O65JXI it's cheap, will give you a decent overclock and is no where near as loud as the intel fan.

The motherboard is worth.

Yes a 970 gives more fps than 960.

A cheaper Z97 board can be found for sure. You can hopefully then afford an R9 390. If not then go with a locked i5 and save even more on both the CPU and motherboard.
