They are fantastic! I have a few suggestions though... Some icons, in my opinion, could be done differently:

  1. The Off Topic icon doesn't really represent anything at the moment so I think having it like a road sign like below would make more sense.  
  2. The Watercooling icon could be as an icon of a reservoir. Again so that it relates to something and is more iconic *pun intended xD*.
  3. The Networking icon could be normal not upside down.
  4. The Esports icon could be a medal with either WASD or a controller in it so that it represent both sports and the fact that they are E-sports.
  5. The Mobile gaming icon is too similar to the Mobile devices icon and I think it should show a game like Tetris or Pong just to emphasise the 'gaming' part.
  6. The Star Citizen icon really stands out from the rest because it is all white and has text on it. In my opinion it should just be the icon and coloured in different colours.

I've been working on icon designs for each of the sub-forums for the website as an idea. I've completed almost all of the designs for each sub-forum. Is this something you think would improve the forum/look good on the site? Your feedback on the icons would be greatly appreciated.

Nice! I would love to have something like this added.

But only if you were able to make some design for the Dark theme. (so using less white for those versions)

However if we are going to use them we would need greyed-out versions of all of the icons too. (for when a forum is marked as read)

99.9% sure. The only thing that could really stop it is if Luke has a problem with them. I can't speak for anyone, but I think Luke will like these

These are some quality icons ITT, however that eSports one in the OP has horrible jaggies. You are using vector objects and rasterizing them later or whatever, right?

Ah, I think you may have been looking at the eSports icon that @Damikiller37 suggested (not mine) which I selected as best answer. Yes, all of the icons are in vector format.

Ah, I think you may have been looking at the eSports icon that @Damikiller37 suggested (not mine) which I selected as best answer. Yes, all of the icons are in vector format.

 

Yeah my suggested changes were put together in a few minutes and I didn't concentrate on making them as good as they should be. They only served as an illustration of what I was explaining hence the jaggies and no symmetry on the resovour core spiral in the Watercooling icon, etc :P
