Inb4 Haswell-E makes more financial sense.

Honestly though, we pretty much knew that Broadwell and Skylake were going to be small performance gains. Kaby Lake and Cannonlake should be much better.

Though I guess Intel is having issues with 10nm, which is why we have Kaby Lake.

Basically Skylake is Haswell and Kaby Lake is Devil's Canyon/Haswell Refresh.

CHANGING SUBJECT!!!

Isn't it nice intel is finally admitting the stock heat sink is shit and they stopped selling it along their unlocked CPUs? I hate stock coolers...and they hate me back....overheating cunts that refuse to work for me.

No they're not admitting it's crap so they stop bundling it with the unlock CPUs. They see it as a waste to include it when 99% of users who buys K cpus will not even bother to use the stock cooler. A stock cooler include would be nice even if you got a unlock cpu. Great for backup use, say your H100I is going back for RMA.

Rebrand or even refresh would be wrong terms to use in this situation. Haswell and Skylake are actually quite a bit different, even if visible performance is not.

if you have to insist you think for yourself, i'm not going to believe you.

Review samples for "Broadwell" were out last month...or even before.

They are more power efficient, at stock, and had a MUCH better iGPU. As soon as you overclock them, the efficiency goes out the window, and you end up with the power draw of a "Haswell" or "Devil's Canyon" -- you need more voltage to get similar frequency.

This "Skylake" it just similar to "Broadwell." You need more voltage to get higher frequencies.

You could get 4.6 GHz with 1.25V~1.30V with something like a i5-4690K or i7-4790K.

To get 4.6 GHz, you need 1.35V~1.40V with a i7-5775C or i7-6700K.

"Broadwell" and "Skylake" can tolerate higher voltage, and higher temperatures.

Anyways, expect to see "Broadwell" and "Skylake" availability at around the same time...maybe "Skylake" will even be here first.
