6600k vs 4790k

I can get new 6600k with mobo and 8gb of ram for the same price as 4790k + mobo, what should i buy?

PC will be used for gaming and ps/ai/cinema 4d/sony vegas work.

Here are some benchmarks i found (sorry for Polish, this is the best i have).

I would go with the  i7-6700K

Please disregard that, I though the title read 6700K, not 6600K. I would go with the 4790K

But how much does it cost for DDR4 ram over DDR3 in your country? :/

Shot through the heart and you're to blame, 30fps and i'll pirate your game - Bon Jovi

Take me down to the console city where the games are blurry and the frames are thirty - Guns N' Roses

Arguing with religious people is like explaining to your mother that online games can't be paused...

6600k is supposed to be 100 dollars cheaper. Grab that. If same price (yes I know mobo and ddr4 will be more but that imho is worth it) then get the 4790k.

That is an i7 vs an i5... For gaming only, the i5 may be a better option, but for daily use / 3d rendering and video work like you do, i7 will destroy an i5.

Go with the 6600k because it supports far more PCI-E lanes than the 4790K.  You could for example, have two way SLI in 16x on both + a PCI-E/M.2 SSD

It's also a little newer for what it's worth...

I recommend the 4790K actually, (I am still unfamiliar with this naming scheme) it does provide more performance and lacks only in iGPU.

For the Best builds and Price lists here is a world where many points of the price have been predefined already for your convenience!

The Xeon E3 1231 V3 IS BETTER Than the Core i5 4690K and a Significantly better value for the non-overclockers or value shoppers.

The OS is like a kind food, Try it before saying if you like it or don't.

The i7-4790K is a superior CPU to the i5-6600K, especially with DX12 games incoming.

6600k doesn't have as much cache and doesn't have hyperthreading. DDR4 has no advantage (performance-wise) over DDR3 presently. You have a good chance of getting a low voltage Vietnam 4790K right now.

I wouldn't buy an i5 Skylake over an i7 Haswell if they are the same price, heck ever if the i5 is cheaper... but each to their own.

R9 3900XT | Tomahawk B550 | Ventus OC RTX 3090 | Photon 1050W | 32GB DDR4 | TUF GT501 Case | Vizio 4K 50'' HDR

I have HyperX Fury 2x8GB 1866MHz CL10, will it hold up? Is for example A-Data XPG Z1 2x4GB 2800MHz CL17 ddr4 much faster?

4790k or 6700k (an i7)

i7 skylake + ram + mobo is way out of my reach

4790K, but them news board will give you 20 extra gen 3 lanes for your other devices. So you can run 2-way SLI and not have to worry about, is there enough lanes to run a pcie ssd, like the Intel 750. Z97's M.2 limited to x2 mode, Z170's M.2 runs at full speed at x4. Xeon might be another option, when it comes out.

Intel Xeon E5 1650 v3 @ 3.5GHz 6C:12T / CM212 Evo / Asus X99 Deluxe / 16GB (4x4GB) DDR4 3000 Trident-Z / Samsung 850 Pro 256GB / Intel 335 240GB / WD Red 2 & 3TB / Antec 850w / RTX 2070 / Win10 Pro x64

HP Envy X360 15: Intel Core i5 8250U @ 1.6GHz 4C:8T / 8GB DDR4 / Intel UHD620 + Nvidia GeForce MX150 4GB / Intel 120GB SSD / Win10 Pro x64

HP Envy x360 BP series Intel 8th gen

AMD ThreadRipper 2!

5820K & 6800K 3-way SLI mobo support list

I would honestly go for the 6600K. That kind of machine is usually temporary or for amateur use. the 6600K will give more pieces for less and whenever you earn enough money through design jobs just get a second PC with a Xeon,

Furthermore in the case of PS/AI the new graphic chip is giving better OpenCL results, I do think it will actually give better performance than the 4790K in those applications depending on how they handle CPU graphics.

I'm concerned that i7 is the older architecture with older ram but at the same time i'm already throwing out my M5A99FX and would hate to also replace just bought ddr3 ram + i5 build will be half in ram capacity for the same money.

Which one will be faster and last me longer?

for any cinema 4d work the 4790k with its 8 threads will always crush a 4 thread cpu. 6600k is not worth the money in your case.
