Do I get your sanctus on this 1000€ allround PC?

Hi everyone.

What do you think about this? It's supposed to be an allround PC with gaming abilities. No fancy-schmancy overclocking, so no need for Z97 (I don't think I need to overclock a good CPU that can handle the everyday tasks).

IPS - im don't do hardcore gaming, so Hz won't really matter to me if the lag time is not tooo shabby.

Considering my experience with AMD, I think I would be doing a bad thing by recommending AMD. Their drivers are horrible, their  power consumption is shocking and their cards are hotter than the sun.

Iv had better luck with them than Nvidia. And I say that when I have a melted 290x (long story short bad mosfet 1300w and a removed warranty sticker).

Thats that. If you need to get in touch chances are you can find someone that knows me that can get in touch.

There is no need for a custom CPU cooler on a 4590.  The stock Intel cooler is surprisingly good (as long as you don't overclock, which you can't on a 4590).  You should save the money and put it toward a better GPU.

I strongly recommend a 212 even if you don't overclock. Stock CPU cooler noise is annoying and it's worth $30 to get rid of.

i will buy the fractal because i really like it. and the gtx 970 is also a must. i want to have dual monitors and id prefer to have the same standard (dp). i experienced huge differences in image quality/color between for example dvi and hdmi, although both signals are digital.

  • 2 weeks later...

I have to bring this thread up once more:

Since Skylake arrived 2 weeks ago I'm totally unsure if I should spend some extra cash on the new cpu, chipset and ram?

What's your thoughts? If I'm a first-time builder. i5 6600K or i5 4690K or 4590 + H97 (H97 and no OC was the initial idea)?

I took the 4590 and a H97 mobo in the end. just figured i am not going to overclock anything, save some bucks and the system should be future proof for at least a couple of years.

thank you all for your advice!
